Getting started
Take the free level test — twelve questions, about five minutes, and you get a CEFR level straight away. We confirm it properly in the first call, because a written test cannot hear you speak.
The first call is free and lasts about twenty minutes. It is a conversation, not a lesson: we hear your goal, place your level, and tell you honestly what it will take. There is no obligation to book afterwards.
No. A good number of our students start with no French at all. Beginners often progress fastest, because nothing has to be unlearned first.
It depends on your starting level, how often you practise, and what you are aiming for. As a rough guide, moving up one CEFR level takes most people between 150 and 200 hours. We give you a realistic estimate in the first call — including when a deadline is not achievable.
Lessons and scheduling
Online, by video call, one to one. You get a link before each session and a written summary afterwards.
Rescheduling is free with 24 hours' notice. Life happens; we would rather move a lesson than have you sit through one you cannot concentrate in.
No. All materials are included and sent to you in advance, so nothing arrives cold.
Not at present. Every lesson is one to one, which is what makes the pace and the content genuinely yours.
Exams
TCF Canada is usually the one for Canadian immigration. DELF and DALF are lifetime diplomas, often wanted for study or professional recognition. Tell us what the certificate is for and we will point you at the right one before you pay for anything.
You sit full practice papers under timed conditions first, marked against the official criteria. When your mock scores sit consistently above the band you need, you are ready.
Yes, in the exam preparation programme, along with written feedback on every attempt.
Price and payment
Prices are per session and listed in full on the courses page, in Canadian dollars. Nothing is hidden and there is no registration fee.
No. Every programme is priced per session, so you can pause, stop or change direction whenever you need to.
We send an invoice after the first call, once you have a written plan and a price. Payment details are on the invoice.
Accessibility and adjustments
Materials in advance, recorded sessions, written summaries, adjustable pace and session length, camera-off lessons if that helps, and dyslexia-friendly typefaces and spacing on every handout. Tell us what helps and what does not, and it goes into the plan from the first lesson.
No. We do not ask for paperwork. If something helps you learn, that is reason enough to do it.
Only if you want them to be. Recordings are yours, shared with nobody, and you can ask us to stop at any point.
